Hey guys, (from George and Jane in Burgundy, Central France)
We have a delightful farm in a National Park in the mountains. We welcome old hippies (like myself!) to camp for free as long as you like. We had a couple stay 2 years, and eventually bought a cottage nearby!
Take down the address…
George Rumens
La Source
Rangère,
Villapourçon 58370
It is in the backward and depopulated departement of Nievre; halfway between Dijon and Nevers.
Telephone from UK 00333 8678 6550
It is close to the old Celtic capital of Bibracte; a place of forested mountains and drinkable streams.

Hello!
Thank you, your place does sound delightful! We will be sure to give you a ring when we hit France (we’re currently in Holland, heading North). We’re both really interested in working on farms, and I’m sure could provide some helping hands too!
I am enjoying reading both your blogs, quite interesting stuff!
Look forward to our meeting,
Claire x

Hey guys, we did the same thing as you! We lived in a Citroen Dispatch-planned to go for 6 months and it turned in to a 2 year trip round Europe! We busked our way around and found it quite profitable in some places, do either of you play music at all?
Here’s a vid of just a day on the road:
The little red van you see briefly is what we lived in. There’s a few other vids of ours on the same profile.
We just got married and did a hitchhiking honeymoon with no planning at all-ended up in Scotland. A great taste of the good old days now we have roots!
You’re gonna get to know each other well, that’s for sure! Totally stoked for you, you’ll never regret it and look back on it as an amazing time! When things go wrong remember they’re the bits that make the fun stories. Have fun

Hello! Sorry it has taken me a while, internet is few and far between on the road! We would be more than happy to, however I don’t currently have the rights to them, it was a friend of ours who is a photographer who took the pictures and made the article. I can gladly put you in touch with him if you like?
Thank you!

Hello, I first started travelling when I joined the merchant navy in 1965, a few years as a sailor, then a couple of years at college. I ended up driving a big truck all over Europe. After retiring, I bought a caravan and toured Europe, it all got a bit much, being that I’m now a pensioner. So now instead of recording my travels, I’ve started providing links to other peoples travels including yours. http://nokiapete.blogspot.co.uk/

Wow! Sounds like you’ve had some amazing adventures! Thank you for putting our blog on your site, much appreciated and I’m sure a brilliant way to relive all those times you were travelling. It is interesting to find people who have been doing this many years before! Thank you again! 🙂

Hi both,
Me and Lydia have practically an identical van to yours, called Popsicle!! I’m just insulating it now, then ply lining and carpeting , ready for furniture fit out.
We are taking a month out to travel Europe also this year. We are really motivated by your wonderful lives and adventures. Hope to meet up with you both one day soon.
Speak soon.
Cheers

Excellent news! You’ll have a smashing time no doubt 🙂
If you have a van like ours which actually slopes in at the top, we did half the walls with ply (covering the back of the cupboards and bed) and then used tongue and groove boards for the rest, as they bend and fit around the sides better and we didn’t loose any space. Maybe thats something to think about? It also looks very nice with proper wood effect, although some people think it looks like a sauna!
If you’re ever in the Southwest maybe we could meet up. Always happy to meet like-minded people 🙂
Happy travels!
xx
